As it is mentioned somewhere that it’s Glory for a Woman to have long Hair, Women’s hair is considered as one of the most prominent and important aspects of her physical appearance. They all have a choice to do whatever they want with it dye it, cut it short, go bald, curl it or straighten it. But having it requires proper nurture and maintenance You might do it nearly every day but here’s something surprising, you might not really know the right way of washing Hair and could damage it without realizing.
Here are some tips that one must consider while Washing Hair, which will save it from disaster.
1. Towel Drying
Never rub your hair with a regular Towel it can lead to hair breakage and cause frizziness. Always blot your hair with a soft cloth or t-shirt instead of rubbing it dry after a Wash.
2. Oiling before Shampoo
Massage hair oil to the scalp 2 – 3 hours before Washing. Shampoos consist of harsh ingredients that can strip crucial oil from the hair strands and Oiling prevents it from happening.
Always detangle your hair before Washing because when hair is wet it’s difficult to detangle the hair knots.
Before applying shampoo rinse your hair properly for a minute. Make sure you use lukewarm water, this will help in opening the surface of the scalp.
Too much of anything is bad so be careful not to over shampoo, this may leave your scalp area dry without the natural oil that is needed to strengthen Hair.
6. Lather Up
The scalp area and particularly the nape needs shampooing. Hair closest to the scalp is the youngest and the end is the oldest and fragile. So start from root to the end.
Hair is usually very weak when wet, so it’s more sensitive to break. While lathering hair with shampoo avoid harsh intense rubbing and scratching instead stroke hair gently.
8. Double Shampoo
The more foam the better is wrong over here. Washing hair with shampoo once is better rather than washing twice, which will damage the hair further. Also, stick to one brand shampoo.
When applying conditioner make sure you squeeze out the water from your wet hair. Applying on wet hair will weaken it’s effect and not absorb the oil, as it will drip away.
10. Conditioning Time
Always apply the conditioner and wait for few minutes for it to soak in properly. Washing it off straight away will be a waste of money. At least wait for 5 – 7 mins. before Washing.
11. Cool Water
A hot shower is bad for the hair, it steals all the moisture, Cool or lukewarm water is advisable. Wash your hair with cold water in the end which will lead to a shinier and less tangled up hair.
Mix some apple cider vinegar and rinse your hair because vinegar is a great exfoliator that will remove dandruff and also makes your hair soft and smooth.
